National Allergy Day (11th October) was conceived and launched by the IAP Allergy & Applied Immunology Chapter and subsequently adopted by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) as a national observance to promote allergy awareness, early diagnosis, timely treatment and prevention.
“National Allergy Day marks a historic milestone in India’s journey towards improving awareness, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of allergic diseases. With allergic diseases affecting millions of Indians and their prevalence continuing to rise, greater awareness and early intervention have become a public health priority. Recognizing the growing burden of allergy across all age groups, the IAP Allergy & Applied Immunology Chapter launched the STAMP OUT ALLERGY initiative to encourage early recognition, timely testing, appropriate action, regular monitoring and preventive strategies
The formal adoption of 11th October as National Allergy Day by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics marks an important step towards making allergy awareness a national public health priority. We invite healthcare professionals, schools, families, policymakers and communities to join this national movement and help build an allergy-aware, allergy-ready India.”
